We Are Nigerians (Independent Poem)

Rating: 1.0

We are Nigerians
Though we may differ in tongue
We speak one common language
ENGLISH or PIDGIN

We are Nigerians
We have different ethnic groups
HAUSA, IGBO or YORUBA
What difference does it make?
We are still one people!

We are Nigerians
We are one people
United by tribe
Divided by River Niger and Benue
Amalgamated by the South and North

We are Nigerians
Blessed with rivers of oil
Flowing like milk and honey

We are Nigerians
We swim in culture and tradition
Magneted in unity
Singing lullabies of love

We are Nigerians
We are hardworking
Producing food crops and cash crop
Scattered everywhere like wildfire

We are Nigerians
Though insecurity is eating
Our land like earthquake
Yet we still stand unshaken
Blowing the trumpet of love

We are Nigerians
With green and white flag
Flying free the freedom of 1960

We are Nigerians
We are one people.
