We Are On Different Journeys Poem by Sylvia Chidi

We Are On Different Journeys

We are on different journeys
I am coming and you are going
I don't want to do but you do for the doing
I want to be glad and you want to be sad
I must be good and you have to be bad
I need to receive but you wish to deceive
I would like to make up
You always need to breakup

I may call you ‘Baby' or I may call you ‘Honey'
Let me iterate - We are on different journeys
You blame me like there is an underlying fault
Tarnishing my feelings with pepper and salt
For your whole mind-set is so negative
It cannot yield a result called positive

I may call you ‘Sweetie or my Golden Sunny'
Nothing about our different journeys is funny
I want to laugh and you want to cry
You want to walk and I want to fly
About new experiences, you moan and moan
From your tone you are not aware I have grown
The lame excuses I make which confuses
Are deliberate actions of mine which I infuse!

We are on different journeys
You scream and I sing like a bee
You need coffee and I always need tea
I want to share but you just don't care
I have goodwill but you have bad feel
I like to join for a start
You need to tear apart
What I like you simply dislike
It is time to tell you to take a hike!

I may call you ‘Sweetie' or my ‘Handsome Bunny'
Let me emphasis - We are on different journeys
I have travelled this road a thousand times before
For you it's new and you will want more and more
But there are new territories I want to explore
For you it will just be a long and painful bore

We are on different journeys
You have new fantasies you have sown
But I can never be your ice cream cone
I want to write and you want to fight
From the dark I have emerged into light
You see - We are from different time zones
I also have precious dreams of my own
You can never be my treasurable stone
