We Live In The Present Poem by Francis Duggan

We Live In The Present

Rating: 3.0

We live in the present the past it has gone
Tomorrow is coming and life does go on
At the stroke of midnight the past will be today
And time does not wait as the wise one does say
Immortality for humans is based on a lie
Today people were born and people did die
And for all of us there is a final sunset
Some thing we do not wish to think of and that causes us to fret
We live in the present and we learn from the past
And time on our lives ever keeps ticking fast
The longest lived human life in time not a long span
On average a few years more for a woman than it is for a man
Time that rusts iron keeps ticking away
And at at midnight this evening the past will be today.
