The sun brightly shining, 'twas a beautiful day
Until my Love said 'farewell' and drifted away.
Sun went into hiding, cold breezes touched my hair
What did I say or do for him to leave me there?
Down to the sea I wandered, feeling sad and blue
I waited until moonlight when passers-by were few.
Discarding my top clothing, I swam out with the tide
To that little dreamy island - only ten miles wide.
There I met a charming sailor, I told him all my woes
He said 'forget your troubles, that's the way life goes'.
He'd also lost a true love; she tossed him overboard
How pleased was he to meet me, a new life lay in store.
So early the next morning, we swam home with the tide
Life became a fantasy - he was groom and I was bride.
