We Need But Whisper

How oft in life a child may pray?
Is God alive and well?
What is to happen judgment day?
Who can be saved from hell?

God sees the heart that trusts in gold
He sees who play the fool
He sees each soul to Satan sold
Who lets the devil rule

God also sees the heart contrite
He sees the soul aglow
He sees who seek His guiding Light
To show them where to go

God yearns to give His Lamp Divine
His Promise man to share
He only needs the slightest sign
The whisper of a prayer

From palace or the darkest slum
In silk or wrapped in shame
God’s Guarantee will freely come
To all who call His name

Who place their hope in Jesus Christ
Who’s faith is in God’s Son
That through The Lamb God sacrificed
Eternal life is won

There’s nothing more for us to do
Nothing we need to pay
That’s why its grasped but by a few
That’s why the rest still stray

That’s why the blind remain still lost
That’s why they hear no call
Nothing they say involves no cost
And so the proud still fall
