Weeds (2)

Yet will we rid our worldly cares?
Be healed of sin led pains?
Or do we love the devil’s snares?
Seek comfort through his chains?

Are we at ease with evil things?
Lost in demonic ways?
Dancing when devil’s pull our strings
Like blundering fools these days?

Dig up, the stones that dim the eye
The weeds that cloud the mind
That lead to lust, to cheat and lie
Making God’s children blind

Dig up the thorn filled barren ground
Begin the search inside
Wherever evil weeds are found
Destroy them where they hide

Whilst breath is in the body still
In Christ it’s not too late
Be quit of burdens which can kill
Be rid of deadly weight

But this may cause us hurt and pain
May make us cry and groan
Yet those who want God’s autumn rain –Jas.5: 7
Must rid themselves of stone

In rocky fields, it’s light to sew
Yet awfully hard to till
For stones divert God’s water flow
While weeds receive their fill

But who can see this devious trick
The devil’s cunning ploy
Who’ll take to hand both spade and pick
And cleanse their land with joy…….P.T.O
