Welcome Crazy Westport Weather Poem by Terence George Craddock

Welcome Crazy Westport Weather

crazy Westport weather
streams through seasons
two days ago crept cold gales

up the coast with showers
hail bite mid morning briefly
no snow on town foothills

yesterday still rain cold showers
today started cold lingering cloudy
yet late afternoon sun hot streams

through my bedroom window bright
outside breeze is fresh still cold
but sun upon face is not warm but hot

this is glorious last day of autumn
the sun shines bright smiles heat
next two days will be hot dry neat

welcoming in first day of winter
winter sheets are warm snug in beds
fire lit at night burns red hot bright

crazy Winter weather Westport
streams through all seasons
two days ago crept cold gales

New Zealand can shock harvest
four seasons in a single day this feat
achieved in the middle of summer

therefore winter in high rugged mountains
gives climbers few or no second chances
unaware tourists fall prey to seasons moods
