What if the world
was made up of
the lovely people.
I could name names
and point them out.
But what the heck
it matters not,
for in the end
they've gone to buy
make-up mascara
to fool the world.
I've only got
myself, at that.
I think we always try to fool people to some point....make-up is just another tool. Nicely put!
Thanks everyone. Much. And Sally, yes, and we only have ourselves for a bit. H
this is lovely......simply lovely.
I think lovely people can wear make-up without the thought of trying to fool people. I think of make-up as icing on the cake! ! The cake can be just as sweet with or without icing but it sure looks nicer with the icing doesn't it? Also...no matter how much frosting you put on a cake that is horrible....it will still be a horrible cake! Loved the poem Herbert! Sincerely, Mary
The 'I alone love me' arguement used to fill me with strength, but now it fills me with fear. I think I prefered it when it didnt seem to apply so vividly.
But then again, what if no man ever looked twice at the feminine species who wore makeup and mascara? Then we would all feel safe to be ourselves! :) Raynette
