West Stream Zi Poem by Luo Zhihai

West Stream Zi

★ West Stream Zi

☆ Poetry by Niu Qiao (? -890? , Tang Dynasty, China)
☆ Translation by Luo Zhihai (1954-, China)

Strong played 4-stringed Chinese lute
Jade hairpin in the cicada-sideburns shook
Before the painting hall
People without a word
But they can understand the strings
Played to Zhaojun’s sadness
Maid of honour was sad, too
Didn’t raise her head

☆ 牛峤 诗

捍拨双盘金凤
蝉鬓玉钗摇动
画堂前
人不语
弦解语
弹到昭君怨处
翠蛾愁
不抬头
