What Are We? Poem by Blake Val Noir

What Are We?

who are you living in all these many forms,
the egotistic, sadistic, cryptic norms?
who are they filling out the empty,
they get plenty and document their entry,

what are we the pleasure or the pain?
the morning light? the nights charm?
or the eve that is the gain?

we are we and they are them the all seeing protagonist,
the erector and protector or the failed sentinel antagonist?

again and again the oblique turned obtuse,
over and over the hero turned recluse,
who are we but men of the beaten land,
the killer of gaia labelled with the death core brand.
