What Could Have Been? Poem by Kayla Duf

I want you to tell me,
Why you want to talk to me,
I want, need to know what you are thinking,
I love you, but I'm not in love with you,
I don't think I was ever in love with you,
It may have been leading up to that,
But it never happens, I think what gets me the most,
Is that I never got to find the ending I was hoping for,
I want to let go, but I don't know if I can,
All I can do is promise that things will change,
But even then, who knows what could happen,
I don't want to hurt anyone, even you,
I don't want to hurt, and I don't know why,
You just played me to get what you want,
And yet, you still sit there in my thoughts,
And I always wonder....
What could have been?
