I’ve looked everywhere
And even traveled far
To show my love for you
But all I have is my heart

I know it won’t help
But I’m giving it to you
Even though it’s held together
With tears, tape, and glue

I’ll tell you it has holes in it
And I don’t think they’ll heal
I will also hold your hand
Though I wish I had better to deal

I will also hide my tears
And offer my arms to hold
I wish I could be stronger
And protect you from the world

I know I’m alive today
Because you’re here beside me
I know my meaning in life
Is to make sure you are happy

I watch as you spiral down
And I know how bad I failed
I should have told you before
Before your life derailed

I wish I could have stopped him
From telling you those lies
I hope my heart will help you see
