What I See Poem by Brendon Secrist

What I See

What do I see,
When I look at you,
I see hurt,
Old scars,
And new ones too.
Some of them are my fault,
Some of them aren't.

But I also see love,
In your heart.
A unheeding and relentless love,
That only you can give.
Trust me and take my hand,
Lead me into the light,
And place me upon solid land.

Your on the edge,
Your on the verge of falling,
Into the abyss.
Please let me be the one,
To save you.

I can do it,
Just give me a chance,
Let me love you,
Until the very end.
