What If Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

What If

Rating: 5.0

This simple meal reminds me of you
Dancing in a cheap cabaret
I think of you when I cook this meal
The wine and cheese
I can still hear the music at night
I wish I could have met you
But I was shy and didn't know how to speak French
Yr smile was a vision that I kept from that night
I don't remember anything else
Those blue eyes and blonde hair
I dreamt of wiping yr tears
And having my fingers go through those locks
I wonder if the cabaret is still there
But when I was sad or tired, I grab a bottle
And a piece of brie
The music would be playing in the background
I would be crying as thought slips away
Wondering what if
