What Is Man?

Ere God gave man the kiss of life
Ere man was given birth
Before The Lord gave man his wife
God planned they’d rule the earth

But disobedience raised his head
Selfishness was born
Deceit became our daily bread
Fatality saw it’s dawn

Man’s not the being he thinks to be
We’re made The Lord to please
From Satan’s hold we’re never free
Until we bends our knees

We’re formed inside, from how we live
From fruits to God we bear
From life obtained, we freely give
God thus computes our share

All flesh is just like waving grass
Like flowers of the fields
Like morning dew, resounding brass
Enigmas, truth reveals

If Christ God’s Lamb were not to hand
With love, with saving grace
We’d never learn to understand
We’d never see God’s face

But God would have man’s eyes to see
His truth unveiled on high
He’d have our hearts and souls made free
Upon life’s wings to fly

Yet not of self, can this be done
For man’s but flesh and bone
But through the blood of God’s True Son
Through Jesus Christ, alone!
