What is heartache?
Is it losing all you've got?
With so much at stake,
realizing it was all for naught?

Gunshot straight into the chest,
Heart full of holes just like a sieve.
A knife in the back cutting off air,
and suddenly you can no longer breath.

What is pain?
Damage! Your nerves scream in fright
But losing a love,
plunges you into emotional night.

A wrecking ball,
destroying what you've strived to build.
Leaving gaping holes,
that may never be completely filled

Forcing you to accept certain things,
taking life day by day.
Hoping, wishing, and praying,
that someday, this too shall fade.
