What Lies Beyond Poem by Phoenix1 Smith

What Lies Beyond

As I lay down calmly
in this cold unnerving ground
raising my eyes
to the lonely night sky
where a million stars
are watching me by

mesmerized by the wonders
staring at these heavenly bodies
as they move in perfect harmony
a clear question now lingers
does this creations yearn to tell
its own passionate stories
or rather just keep it as secret
of forever hidden mysteries

within the galaxies afar
are there other beings
crying out for its lover's name
as I call yours in vain?
does it feel an emotion
like humans feel pain?

I may never know
whatever lies beyond
in that dark infinite space
I will stay and admire
subtlety of its grace
like enigma of my dreams
I dauntlessly dare to chase..
