What Makes You An Adult? Poem by Blair Flynn

How do you know when you’ve finally reached adulthood?
Some people may never know.
Well in my opinion, it takes a few aspects.
It’s knowing when to walk away, even when it hurts
Keeping quiet when all you want to do is scream.
Don’t get annoyed by insignificant things
Pay no attention to the ignorant people that eventually won’t matter in your life.
Stop caring about other people
And just not caring what people think about you
Just don’t care at all
The only person that you need to depend, rely and care about is yourself because eventually no one will be there and you will have to be self-reliant
So maybe that’s what it takes to be an adult?
If it doesn’t, at least they area few goals I have achieved.
