What Would Make Them Happy Poem by Micron

I listened to some guys having a discussion today
As they got excited dreaming with lots to say
I’m not sure how the conversation began
But this is how their dialogue ran
We’re tired, had enough, of this place
Need to be happy and escape at a rapid pace
So then came the question what makes you happy
I need a long holiday lying on the beach by the sea
With lots of gorgeous oiled bodies around
Parties loud music endless food and drink allowed
To win the lottery most seem to want
To infront of others their riches to flaunt
Got to have at least one huge bank account
With more money than you can count
A great car for every day of the week
With someone to wax them keep them at their peak
A helicopter plane, several boats too
And all the mod cons and my own crew
The latest computers and gadgets be cool
With the latest game consoles to be able to dual
Several houses with servants to wait on every need
A bike to race around at high speed
But as they walked off went their own way
This conversation in my head did stay
For all they wished for was more things wealth
No one mentioned simple things like love and good health
Maybe what they wanted would temporary happiness bring
But it wouldn’t really make their inner heart and soul sing.
