When Death Strikes… Poem by Dr John Celes

When Death Strikes…

The arrogant must die the meanest death
And take with him, his vile and vice and sin;
The meekest lamb gets throat slit by a knife,
And life is gone in moments with limbs flail;

The robust beasts succumb death by disease;
The predator must die at hands of prey;
The strongest meet a coward's end some day,
The weakest taking revenge in the end.

Death may not happen if you expect it;
Like bolt from blue, it strikes the unwary;
It does not matter, young or old, poor, rich;
All vanish like the storm that ushers calm.

No earthling can evade the Grappler's grip;
A fault or blunder hastens death's meanness;
The life God gives is gone off like the wind
The doors and windows cry for honest souls!

At times, a gory death engulfs a soul;
Sometimes, a glorious end awaits persons;
The point is proven, earthly life must end;
How long one lives is not within our skills!

The wisest live expecting death each day;
The foolish live as if life's eternal;
The elephant can't crush a flimsy ant;
The ants one day swarm elephant's carcass.

Death is part of life. So, let us live in peace with each other. Nice work.
