When He Takes Me Poem by Gabriel Rodriguez

When He Takes Me

When he takes me

I would simply like to say, thank you, to the few that stood by me.

And to those who didn't, I understand, and I feel no more hate, it seems.

I long pondered what it would be like to wander and never return.

The final flame, of the final blaze, on the final day it burns.

As the world turns, it shall no longer see me nor feel me.

Only my smell will linger and my Earthly possessions will remain

as well as the physical form of the pain, I endured.

I left the lights for the true life, hopefully he accepts me,

but if I'm destined for hell after waiting at the gates its just as well, I feel no more hate.

I think all this as I take my final breath and now I feel the true death

and I take my first step.

Into the world I've always dreamed, a place where people love me, and with overwhelming joy,

I will scream.

This place, only of the mind, I'm lost but I'm destined to find.

And when I do I'll bring you with me, my beautiful angel, the shining beacon of my existence, the person who opened up my eyes,

we will live in paradise forever, In the event of my demise.
