When Life Was A Long Ambassador Car Ride...... Poem by krishnakumar chandrasekar nair

When Life Was A Long Ambassador Car Ride......

Royal icon of an age
King of our pot holed roads
You were indeed a rage
A part of every dowry load

You accommodated VVIP snobs
As pilot jeeps screamed for way
Immune to reality or poverty's sobs
You represented power and grace

Dear Ambassador, now rest in peace
Much have you traveled with ease
And now make way for the new please
And we will remember you as a museum piece...........

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Till about a few decades back, the ambassador car was the uncrowned king of Indian roads. It represented wealth, power and even the owners adjusted their countenance to match the cars pompous front view. Now its gone along with its very poor two wheeler petrol guzzling cousins - the lambretta and chetak scooters. RIP to all of them
