Treasure Island

marlene silvestre

when she left

when she left i cried for a year
i became more careless
then when she was here

it just seems like yesterday
its sometimes a blur
how my daughters need me
like i needed her

as years goes by
i sometimes regret
i once was her daughter
whom now she forgets

its hard to speak
it hurts to cry
to remember her face
my reflection won't lie

when she left i knew it was forever
to forgive or forget
could be now maybe never

she is my mom who is my past
who gives new meaning
to somethings never last
