When You'Re In Love Poem by Murphy Payne

When You'Re In Love

Rating: 5.0

When you’re in love
There are many things to laugh about
Like little green apples
Holes in your shoes
Irate clerks, showing their blues
Such things just don’t matter
When you’re in love

When you’re in love
The rain feels so good
Bouncing off your face
As you stick out your tongue
Trying to catch the drops
That’s when you’re in love

But when you’re like me
The apples are much too sour
The clerk has an attitude
Ripped off buying these shoes
And the rain only gets me wet
When you’re like me

I used to be in love
Now things have changed
Don’t be like me
I’ve only myself to blame.
I ruined it all
For all of us
I didn’t see
That life’s more than being
All about me
