R-ainy night is cold and dark,
O-utside the chill causes pain;
S-un sets beneath the horizon,
E-vening shadows remain.
M-onth of January each year
A-ims to brighten the twenty-eighth day;
R-eturn of the morrow is taking place,
E-rasing the black, dark, and gray.
N-ow that the sun is up,
O-ver the mountain so high;
V-ision of true happiness
I-s like a star in the sky.
C-all upon God and come
I-nto the fold safe and sound;
O-ne perfect dwelling place where lasting joy is found.
