Where Life At The Best Of Times Poem by Francis Duggan

Where Life At The Best Of Times

Many believe the lifestyle we do live with our thoughts we create
The people who overlook the thing known as fate
But few if any would embrace poverty
At least anyway that's how it seems to me
Circumstance of birth has a huge part to play
In the future of the children born into life today
For millions from the cradle to the grave life is an uphill fight
The monarch is not monarch by merit only by birthright
We do have life choices some do like to say
Those who feel they look at life in a positive way
But they should tell that to the poor refugee
Who from death squads from his or her Country has been forced to flee
To an overcrowded camp where malnutrition dwell
Where life at the best of times is Earthly Hell.
