Who Knows Poem by Francis Duggan

Who Knows

I know what hair I've got left is silver gray
But don't tell me mate that I have seen a better day
I may know happiness before my eternal rest
And my twilight years might well be my best.

Who knows I might be near that lotto win
To dream of such at least is not a sin
To dream of a once in a life time holiday
In a tropical island many miles away.

I know that I'm three decades past my prime
And I've been losing out to father time
But who knows quite soon my dreams may all come true
And with a million I could help a few.

To my poor friends some kindness I could show
And people in financial difficulties I know
To get their finances from the red to black
And help them to get their lives back on track.

Although such people sad to say quite rare
Who knows I might be a lucky lotto millionaire
That lady luck might finally shine on me
And I could help some out of poverty.
