Who The Son Sets Free

The devil has the world so bound
She’s turned from god on high
The way to life cannot be found
And so her children die

Yet still behind the prison wall
Where thieves and killers dwell
Whoever answers Jesus’ call
The Lord will save as well

In Satan’s pit we all would be
If not for Jesus Christ
If not the truth were here to see
In whom God sacrificed

We’re going nowhere on our own
Without God’s Lamp inside
His Flame can melt a heart of stone
Can burn out foolish pride

What good is light to those yet blind?
Life’s path, if none can seek?
What good’s salvation none can find?
Or truth we fail to speak?

The pruning shears are in the hand –Jn.15: 1-6
Of Him who burns the weed
The One who said to tend the land –Gen.2: 8-15
To plough and plant life’s seed –Gen.1: 28

On thorns and thistles yet we’ll live –Gen.3: 18
Until the day we die –Gen.3: 19+Ro.8: 13
So now God’s word we ought to give –Mt.28: 19-20
And not to wonder why –Ro.9: 20

Yet even now it’s growing late!
The devil’s on his way –Rev.20: 3
If we don’t wish to share his fate –Rev.20: 14-15
God’s word we must obey.-Jn.14: 15-31…
