Why...Are We Here Poem by James B. Earley

Why...Are We Here

Universe in refusal
...Why...are we here
Shrouded in secrecy
....Still radically....unclear

Might the answer perhaps
...Be spiritually profound
Why then the quagmire
....Questions...abound

Turn to the church-house
...Relief one would seek
Confused even further
....Why thus the mystique

That only in death
It's ultimately revealed....
More queries than answers
.....Why the need...to conceal

This lifetime of darkness
....Seems patently unfair
Knowing why we're all here
....But...failing....to share

Dilemma Conundrum
...It's all one and same
Perplexity's indiscretions
....Fanning...the flames

Of a lifetime's wondering...
Remaining disturbingly unclear
....Why.....that deliberate...refusal
As to why...we're all here
