Why Attachment? Poem by Kishore Kumar Das

Why Attachment?

Rating: 2.5

Look at a living being
may be your relative or friend
your employer or stranger
sometimes you are too dear to them
sometimes they turn foe
look at any object
your crave to acquire it
may cost you many sleepless nights
may ruin your mind and body
after you acquire your dream object
it may turn out to be a damp squib
over a period of time:
a wastage of your valuable energy
the same happens to your
qualification, fame and social status
any event, a function of situation
yesterday's nectar
may be a poison today
and may be just a syrup tomorrow
attachment is....
unscientific and paradoxial
nothing is absolutely good
why cling to something?
