Why Cut Flowers Poem by Greg Gaul

Why Cut Flowers

Here's a bundle of colorful things.
I cut their heads off to give you.
So you could own them.
It's not like I stole them from nature.
You can put them in water
so they'll live a little longer.
Eventually, they'll die though.
I don't like killing beauty.
Never thought about it...much.
I did it to show you that I care.
Obviously, I don't know
what I'm doing.

And, we made six million
songs, poems and pictures
about doing this too.
Not sure why either.
