A thing beyond my grasp
She broke, a string in the dark
Silent, nothing, nothing, nothing
She fell and fell, a star without a mark

She spoke less, she looked away
She shunned me, again and again
Why, why, why?
What did I lose, what did she gain?

I know I love her, she's my everything
She's still there, but far away
She made a gap, and smiled across
I had to nod, a rat in a cage

I don't want to push, to tie a knot
But sometimes I did, to catch her eye
It hurt to ignore, to mirror her act
It hurt to not care, to let her fly

It hurt to not talk, to miss her voice
But now I cope, I have no say
I still feel the breeze, when I see her face
I want her to be happy, come what may

She won't leave, she's in my head
I love her as a friend, a sister, a lover, a thread
I tried to be happy, to be with her
But it's not possible, she won't stir

And I have to be happy, without her hand
But it's hard, so hard, I can't stand
It's not her fault, she doesn't see me as I see her
She is pure, she might have irked me, I'm not sure

I just said goodbye, to that ache of mine
I don't want to irk someone, I care and love
But I want her to be safe, be happy, and be everything she wishes
So god, please, heed my dishes
