Why Do You Have To Leave? Poem by Najma Mohamed

You havent even left, though i feel empty inside.
My inner me weeps, my heart has died.
Do you really have to go, can't we find a way?
Is there nothing that can make you stay?

I cry as i write, like i've already lost this fight,
If what we have is wrong why does it feel so right?
This can't be real, ending like this
Coz without you in my life, there wil be no peace.


You change colours of my yesterday,
into brighter shades of tommorrow,
Your thoughts drift me away,
To a land of no sorrow..

Then reality finally hit me
That what I hold on to can never be.
I cry more, feeling more dead,
Why dont i just end this poem instead..?
