Why I Write Poem by Shannon Greenwald

Why I Write

My goal is to express emotion. Pure and simple.
The only purpose I ever have in writing anything is so that sometime someone may read what I have wrote and feel that my words are so close and profound to the exact thing they felt in their heart but could not themselves express.
I feel like it’s my duty to write because I feel others emotions so much that it effects my own life.
I feel what others feel and I have a knack for being able to say the right thing or know the right words.
So in the easiest way I know how, I’ll tell you why I want you to read my writing. Because I write it as a gift.
And my only hope is that you’ll find a poem in here and fall in love with it, you’ll read it and have that one line stuck in your heart that so simply says what you yourself may never have known.
I write because the second I feel a good pen in my hand something within me takes hold and I can’t stop until the pen does.
I can’t control it, the words I write as a gift so enjoy them, and relish them and Share them. The only thing I have left to say is Thank you.
