Why Now Poem by Daniel Bernard Kelleher

Why Now

Rating: 3.5

I spoke to my friend last night
His views were full and grim
Explained unless we turn back
Our world will revert to sin

The terrorist are taking hold
Believing what they do is right
Not in my name do they fight
They say their god is right

Innocent children slaughter
Taken from their homes
Executed outside their doors
The poorest of the poor

Such savagery taking place
Its hard for us to understand
The killing and the maiming
In a foreign far off land
