The window was closed
The window up in the wall
Where children played
On both sides
Where children made faces
To each other
Where children laughed
And giggled
The window was closed
For the little girls
To look on the other side
To satisfy their curiosity
And for the news
They generated
The latest ones
The color of clothes
Latest movie
Or a song
And sometimes
They would cross over
For some happy embrace
The window was closed
For all men and women
The elderly
The strong
The week and the meek
The window was closed
No one could open it
Put the courage
And say it once
Open the window
Open the window
But alas
No one listens
