With God On Our Side Poem by michael spangenberg

With God On Our Side

The doctor, the nurses
Dead-or ‘left already'

Human blood on the streets
Children hospitals, schools

With God on our side
A higher Yahweh on theirs

Widows, orphans
Grandfathers, little toddlers

In-law mothers, young students
Bombarded into freezing Purgatory

Kind lovingly targeted by
Unnatural Chlorine gas

Auschwitz 1940-45
Aleppo 2011-2016

Arab spring, tree of life
Now, Siberian winter

The insolence of hope
When will we ever learn?
