With Those Eyes Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

With Those Eyes

With those eyes

I hear females' voice
Taser shocks both my legs
I stop spy-like …

Look at the girls' faces
Chins and cheeks
Eyes, ears…

Genghis Khan's not Europe's
But dressed in mini
High heel shoes, open necks…

In my mind came mountains
Rugged, tough, with hardship
The wool-tents and mohair
They drink horse's milk
Kids play with bare-feet
Their toys are naturally
The things made locally…

Here and with these girls
See nothing similar,
Do not find a trace…
Not even single piece…

None of them is here
The girls look strange
I am shocked to hear
Talking of Shakespeare.

They speak English
Better than the Texans,
Scottish, and Irish!

What a change!
Whose tongue is English?
