Withdrawn Poem by Daniel Peter Jones

Withdrawn

Rating: 5.0

You seem alone, distant
You say I never listen
Hear, or understand

You say the tapping
Of the keyboard is more important
To me, than your heartbeat

I'm forgetful, I also forget,
You say writing my words is
Taking over my interest
In you, Who are you?

You say I'm indecisive,
Lingering on choices, important
Life choices, Am I?
I can't decide,

You tell me I've changed
And that I only half listen to
You, my face buried in writing
Words to express the new me,

You tell me, your worried and
That I'm different and
Withdrawn

Who is drawn?
And why am I
With them?

You tell me I never listen.

A very interesting poem. A confused mind is trying to make sense of things beyond its comprehension. Yet it faces the challenge, though with great difficulty. It held my interest.
