Wolf Of Night Poem by Sarah2 McMahon

Wolf Of Night

Every evening I awake at the mid of night,
I look to the sky and feel a rush of wind
And as I look beside me, the moon reflects a sight
Of a wolf that barks to the gigantic orb.

“RUSTLE! ” says the leaves to me
And they give their warn
He comes and I feel a need to run free.
His body awakening the night.

“HOWWWLLLL”, he gives me one chance to run
But I stand and stare into his eyes
I am not done and fun has now begun.
We look innocently at the trail before us.

Almost at instant, we are at full speed.
I feel his breath at my back.
I try to stay at a steady lead,
But he is quite too fast.

Finally we pass the tree.
For once, I made it through.
He gives a wolf-like smile at me
I won our race in truth
