Words (Revised) Poem by Ray Andrews

Words (Revised)

Words convey much of what we know
Words for power, words for show
Words for knowledge, a word to the wise
What often matters, to some a surprise

Words of anger may leave me cold
Icy shards for me to hold
Winter roads in trouble paved
Dead end roads to ice filled caves

Critical words-a harsh attack
I can feel the goosebumps down my back
My stomach churns, my heart gives way
These words might sting, for many days

Gentle words of soothing calm
A healing tonic, a gentle balm
Understanding words, given freely in love
Tangentially joined to forces above

Loving words a field of psalms
I want to give them away, I want to go on
Love spoken softly, I feel my place
My home with Spirit in time and space

Carry soft words to the ether's blue
Sing the words in peaceful hues
Reach for the stars through a gentle word
Held in your hand like a newborn bird

Yep! Words can be very hurtful if used the wrong way. Good advice here, and a lovely poem which was a pleasure to read. Love Ernestine XXX
