Yeshua Poem by Peter Eliastam

Yeshua

Somewhere near the margin of our troubled mind
Your presence Lord, surpassing wonder, still surprises us.
We diffidently pause to ponder perfect love, whose cause
So alien to us, is far above our power to realise.
Uncalculating, waiting with Your mercy and Your grace,
So marvellous in our eyes, You comfort and embrace us
In our poverty and poor applause.
We cannot comprehend the kindness that is Yours
Since pity has Your human face, and deity Your human heart,
Your earthly frame – the highest surname, most majestic,
Wonderful surpassing love, is Yours alone.
Your praise is in the pity of Your Son and His compassion
Is the joy of Heaven and our earthly orison.
