Yet Here You Are Poem by Stephen Morris

Yet Here You Are

Rating: 3.0

How did you get here, I'd really like to know,
the last time my heart got broke, I promptly shut the door.
Not only did I shut the door, I threw away the key,
and made a promise to myself, no one would ever again hurt me.
Yet here you are,
Somehow you made it into my life,
Telling me that you love me so,
promising that you will never go,
but how you got here girl I just don't know!

And I told myself no one would ever smile, then lie again to my face, the truth behind those lying eyes is bittersweet
to taste. And along the way I learned something else,
its so sad but it's true, all of my heartbreaks,
began with I Love You!
Yet here you are,
Saying those three words to me,
And my heart don't know what to believe,
And I don't know what to do,
Because I can't say those three words to you!

But then my heart says wait a minute boy,
She might be the girl,
The one we have been searching for all over the world,
And if its her you better hold her tight and never let her go,
but this time around I'm so scared to let my feelings show,
Yet here you are,
Kissing the tear drops from my eyes,
Girl, I'm so embarrassed that I cried,
Then you hold me and say I will be ok,
You say you love me and you're not going away,
And now, I know what I should do,
I pull you close and say I Love You Too!

So how you got here Girl,
I guess I may never know,
The only thing that matters most,
is that you never go,
Hand in hand and heart to heart,
I hope you'll always be,
that girl that made me love again,
that set my broke heart free!
