You Poem by Patricia PMC

You

You broke down the walls of my defense,
with your charm and your smile so intense.
We talk for hours that seem like minutes,
the subjects we touch have no limit.

You put me at ease with your gentle way,
and all of my fears seem to fade away.
I shared with you all of my secrets,
You did not run nor did you fidget.

I miss you whenever you're not around,
these feelings leave me so confound.
I can't believe you are my every thought,
such a battle inside me being fought.

I want to give in completely but if I do,
will my heart once again come unglued.
Not asking for promises I know you can't make,
That would be foolish, I know whats at stake.

I strongly suspect your feelings are the same,
Oh how I pray it's not just a game.
For you've never said one way or another
If not then stop me before I think there's no other.

I love the friendship that we now share,
I wouldn't want anything to cause it despair.
Maybe my words are way out of line,
if that be the case then show me a sign.

All I know is no matter how far
right here in my heart is where you are.
And forever there you'll always be
for you are now a part of me.
