You And Bonsais Poem by Sathya Narayana

You And Bonsais

YOU AND BONSAIS
Hundred years seem to you
a very short journey!
In the time's whirlwind
one day you drop
like a tender bough
feeling scant of the saps
you sipped from the Earth
and wait for a new life!
May be many a life you need
to slake your thirst fully!

Ignore my friend,
those callous dwarfs
with stunted brains
who may feel complete
even at young sixties!
They are just bonsais
at two feet from the floor;
who keep making such tall claims
of holding the boundless skies in whole
with stars and planets
in their two clumsy fists!
