You Are Admired Poem by Ayokunle Adeleye

You Are Admired

You may find this difficult to believe:
I love your use of eye shadow!
Well I find it difficult to relieve
Myself of the task of staring just below your eyebrow!

I love the way you dress—
I know you are not out to impress—
I can only imagine the impression you'll make
When you finally dress up for love's sake

I love your self-esteem
And the way your eyes beam
I love that your smile
Which confirms you can never turn vile

I love your steadfastness
And I love your selflessness
I love your vivacity
And that you hold unto spiritual truths with tenacity

In summary are you admired
Though by me you are not desired
But you are required
To teach others the skills you have acquired

What I am saying is simple:
I like you plus your dimple
But this is definitely NOT a love proposal
So don't think yet of a refusal!
