You Ask Me To Relax For A While... Poem by RIC BASTASA

You Ask Me To Relax For A While...

what do you mean?
are we not relaxed
with our noble work?
is not our work our
very own play?
is not the achievement
we made not enough
rewards for such a
responsible living and
decent pursuit?
what do you really mean?
do you mean we go
on a vacation? or partying?
or drinking tequila and
having loud laughter and
silly conversations?
with that kind of pleasures,
we are not relaxed at all.
we are the children of God
and that is enough relaxation.
