You Never Poem by Tori Alana

You Never

You think you see my feelings
Like they’re growing from a tree
You think you see my dreams
As if you’re inside of me

You don’t, not really
You see only the emotions that I fake
The masks that I put on
You’ve never seen what I’m truly thinkin’
You just see what I pretend
And what I’ll always say.

People look at me and see,
A bubbly, happy, girl.
Or an annoying, bossy, brat.

I wonder what you’d
Say to me
If you saw the pain inside
I wonder how
You’d look at me
If you saw at the world
Through my eyes.

You see the me I show you
I’m not the me you see
If you could see the me I hide
Deep inside of me
