You Shall Rise Again Poem by Jemarie Ragudo

You Shall Rise Again

Rating: 5.0

Slowly, as dusk unfolds the
Brilliance of the night sky
When the sun’s majestic glory
Gives way to the dominance
Of the seductive moon
The myriad of sparkling beauties
Lend grandeur to the back draft
Of the magical kingdom
Where their mistress sits enthroned

And for what seems like eternity
The moon lay content
In the worship of mortals below
Songs were sung and
Poems were laid as offering
To the queen of the night
As laughter can be seen
In the brilliance of her light

But the morning comes
Bringing with it the vengeance
Of the rising sun
And no matter how the stars
Nurtured the dying glory
Of their beloved moon
Fate must prevail and
Dominance must end
At the appointed time
In agony the night whispers
As dawn breaks’
“Hush, my mistress,
You shall rise again.”

The visualization as I read this beautiful poem is amazing. I love this and I love the twist of fates as the night slowly fades to day. I also love the hope given in the end, you shall rise again. Thank you for sharing. Dwayne

Very interesting and beautiful play between the moon and the sun. Since I usually sleep during most of the night and am not one of the worshipers, I don't think of the moon as being dominant, but your description clearly points out its role during the night and for poets it certainly has an important influence. I like your ending giving voice to the sun. Jemarieé, pinaka maganda.
