Many times, I’ve read poems
where the author
has resulted to swear words
one after the other
to get some point across.
The problem is their work
then seems vulgar and cheap
and I stop reading their work.
With a little thought,
they could use an alternative word
and that might even brighten
up their work.
It just makes you grit your teeth
and go Grrr
and then under your breath say
“You silly stump hole.”

I would like to translate this poem
'You Silly Stump Hole' - Interesting expression, David, and one I've not come across before. It certainly makes a fitting finale to this interesting poem. The English language has a wealth of fascinating words and phrases from which to choose, and whereas in context, four letter words don't bother me, some use them purely to shock, or because they don't have knowledge of interesting and more poetic alternatives. Thanks for sharing this. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
